2022 • Calendar | ESAD

While in the second college year in ESAD (College of Arts and Design) in the Communication Design course, in the scope of Project subject, I created my own calendar.

The objective of this project was to create a calendar approaching a social or environmental theme.

What each of us can do in favor of an environmental or social cause" would then be its basic theme, from which each person would have to explore a sub-theme and work it graphically on the calendar.

The subject addressed in this graphic object would have to pay special attention to a component that promotes action, change, gestures and attitudes that people can adopt in order to reduce human impact at the environmental level, or to enable a better social structure that favors greater equality and/or justice. Above all, it should promote an action that is within everyone's reach.

My work

Noise pollution was therefore the chosen theme to be explored in this proposal. Along with air pollution, this noise pollution, as portrayed, is centered solely around automobiles and all this contemporary life where there is almost one car per person and its recurrent use has become commonplace in our society.
The work aims, therefore, to promote and encourage the use of public transport, since in many cases, the destination of countless people is served by public transport networks, making the use of automobiles unjustified. It also intends to raise awareness and provoke reflection on the unnecessary use of cars, often used only for convenience, and the harmful factors for the environment, a problem whose solution is within everyone's reach. Thus, the reduction of environmental pollution and noise in our cities depends on each of us, and a positive change is possible.
