Alongside the development of my final course project – Agente de Mudança – which was developed entirely independently, I also agreed to play crucial roles in another practical project called Doula, directed by my colleague Aleksandra Gontar.
Being also produced in the context of college (ESMAD), as part of the master's degree in cinema and photography – specialization in documentary and experimental cinema – Doula focuses on delving into the work of professional doulas who provide physical, emotional, and informational support to pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth, as well as revealing the importance of their role through the collection of testimonials from clients and former clients.
This project was developed by just the two of us, with Aleksandra, of course, serving as both director and producer. I was responsible for filming, capturing the sound and for the post-production/editing process.

​The biggest challenge was the language barrier, since all the participants in this documentary spoke Russian. However, this challenge was overcome with a series of adaptations and resulted in an enriching experience. In the end, and after several hours editing and interacting with the filmed material, I can already say that I know quite a few Russian words and expressions... :)
