  EDITORIAL REDESIGN

2022

In this project proposal, after analysing some examples of books to get a stronger notion about each specification, like font size, paginantion, margins, etc, we chose a book by an author who has already won a Nobel prize.

The objective here was, after choosing the book, we design the cover and backcover, plus the interior, defining spacing between words, lines, margins, and everything that is needed to create a book. In this case the content was the story/book that we choose.

My work

I choose "Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira" by José Saramago.

On the inside of the book I tried to work on the formatting of the text so that it was appealing and pleasant to read, with an intuitive typeface with the ability to promote a fluid reading.

After knowing a little bit more about the story I worked on the design of the cover.

The cover tries to convey the concept that everyone in the story who is "blind" isn't literally blind, but in social terms, they don't have an open mind, don't see what's around them and don't have a critical spirit.

Format: 11,5 cm x 17,5 cm
