SYMBOLIC ITEMS
2021 • Semi Realism | ESAD
These two drawings are included in the last drawing work proposal of my first college year in ESAD (College of Arts and Design).
In the A1 format, our work had to have two different objects that could merge, obviously, with a reason and concept. Also, we had to use two different materials to produce the drawings.
1st Drawing Meaning
The first one approaches two of my biggest passions, graffiti and photography, and how I usually connect them in my life. The cap symbolizes graffiti and the camera represents photography.
I personified the cap as a head and the camera arranged on it as if it were a person, symbolizing myself.
Coal and dry pastel had been used as the materials.
2nd Drawing Meaning
One the second one, I approach the connection between music and graffiti in the hip-hop culture, and how they usually are so close to each other.
Using the spray can and the headphones embedded was for me the best option I could take.
Ecoline, India Ink and a permanent alcohol pen.
Approach: Semi Realism
Media: Dry Pastel, Charcoal, Marker, Ecoline & India Ink
Format: A1
