THE EPHEMERAL 20's MURAL

The Ephemeral 20's is also a name of a project I did back in my 3rd Bachelor's Degree, in Graphic Design at ESAD.

This mural has three main elements – the skull, the hourglass, and the vegetation (symbol of nature) - which together aim to represent the idea of the passage of time, and that inevitably each human being faces death, being harvested by nature, which is, without a doubt, the environment that encompasses us all.

In the case of this mural, I decided to recycle the name of my college project The Ephemeral 20's because the name is directly related to time, especially the fast passage of time, the fast life in general, and even more pronounced idea due to the modern society priorities, the whole goal to succeed, social media, money, fast routine, automatized actions without questioning, I mean everything.

Having a kind of relation with the classic expression "Roaring Twenties" from the last century is also a fun fact and sonorous name.

Even the airsoft players from the Clube Airsoft do Porto took a lot of pictures in front of my mural! Always grateful to see every time they do it in front of my murals in general.

The Ephemeral 20's ou Os efémeros anos 20 foi o nome dado, com o objetivo de resumir a rápida passagem do tempo, que cada vez tende a se acentuar devido à grande quantidade de informação, tecnologia e ao ritmo acelerado dos ambientes que nos rodeiam.
No entanto este título não surgiu exclusivamente para este Graffiti. The Ephemeral 20's foi originalmente o nome dado por mim a um trabalho de grupo realizado na faculdade no ano 2022, debruçando-se um tema consideravelmente semelhante ao deste mural, apenas uma abordagem diferente.

Mural whose theme revolves around the passage of time, and how, regardless of the evolution of our species, we all have the same destiny, harvested by death and taken over by nature in a splendid, yet beautiful and delicate way.
The ephemeral 20's was the name given, intending to summarize the rapid passage of time, which increasingly tends to become more accentuated due to a large amount of information, technology, and the accelerated pace of the environments that surround us.

However, this title did not appear exclusively for this Graffiti. The Ephemeral 20's was originally the name I gave to a group project made at college last year, having a very similar theme to this mural, just a different approach.
