TONAL AREA MODELING - GRAPHITE & OTHERS
2021
Modeling by tonal area with a graphite pencil is one of the first things we do in drawing when we are younger.
While at the first college year at ESAD, every work here was made with graphite, some of them have other techniques but the tonal area modeling is there in all 6 drawings.
Most of them are made with a reference picture, as the first one, my favourite from this collection. It was given us a photograph of a crazy in a madhouse, and we had to draw it and then, by making a collage, something that could relate to the crazy.
My idea was to do three hands, two pointing to the crazy, in a form of judging and the other one holding a pistol in his direction. The idea was to represent how society judge and put aside all those who are "not normal".
The other works are more about sight drawing or made by looking to a reference picture of it.
Format: A3 and the last two are A1
