  PRAYER FOR DIGNITY

2026 • Figurative Realism & Surrealism Mural | Amnistia Internacional

Mural created in march 2026 as part of the illustration competition 'Human Rights and the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic', organized by Amnesty International Portugal.
Idea suggested by humanist and activist José Tiago Sousa.
Design and painting of the mural developed by me.

Representing hope in justice and constitutional protection, Prece pela Dignidade, or Prayer for Dignity, is a mural that celebrates freedom and human dignity. The composition functions as a manifesto in defense of fundamental rights, reiterating the importance of preventing torture and defending the right to health.

The protagonist, in the center and in prayer, represents the patient. Previously oppressed, he is now embraced by two hands symbolizing constitutional protection, freeing him from the shackles that deprived him of his rights and dignity. The setting reinforces the idea of peace, freedom, and hope, where nature is in tune with the event.

Approach: Figurative Realism & Surrealism

Media: Spray Paint & Emulsion Paint
