SELF-REFLECTION
2021

Self-Reflection is a work done by me in the second year of college at ESAD for the subject of Illustration. It was the first work of the year and focused mainly on photography, more specifically on a reinterpretation of some existing works by other artists and photographers, in form of photomontages.
This work focused mainly on the self-portrait, starting from the choice of some works of artists as a reference in order to be reinterpreted. It was recommended to all these works would have to have faces, so in our own reinterpretations these faces would be replaced by ours.
Another approach that could be taken in this project was not just to reinterpret the works in their entirety, but to create our photomontages based solely on an artist's style, without necessarily being a literal copy of a work.

We should have a minimum of 10 photomontages.

It was a really fun project to do and the result was meticulously calculated in order to some of these photos be as faithful as possible to the references, and others to be really connected to some artist's style.

First, you will see the dossier/archive I made at the time when I submitted this proposal, with information about the authors of the references, the references themselves and then, at the end, are all the photomontages in their full size, for those who want to have a closer look to them.
