CONTEMPORARY ART BIENNUAL
Here are three videos I made for the 2025 Contemporary Art Biennual, taking place in the city of Maia, Porto. Even though I only replaced the Biennial's official videographer for a short period of time, it was a great job opportunity that I certainly enjoyed participating in.

"There's the Maia Contemporary Art Biennual 2025_ Fulgor.
Between July 3rd and September 14th, Maia hosts another Contemporary Art Biennual event, featuring a comprehensive and multidisciplinary program, with free admission.
As a space for critical reflection, imagination, and active participation in building a shared future, art, among other things, possesses, in my view, an intrinsic transformative power that necessarily impacts the development and evolution of societies. And, beyond the expected enjoyment that a visit to the Maia Contemporary Art Biennual (BACM) can certainly provide, I equally value the potential for social transformation that the event brings to our community.
I salute the curators of this biennial edition, especially for their boldness in confronting fear – a boldness that is expressed in the following expression: 'a future freed from the fear that permeates certain discourses and narratives, more plural, inclusive, challenging, and simultaneously inventive.
It is with 'radiance' that I address, through the Councilor for Culture, Mário Nuno Neves, a word of recognition and gratitude to all who made the 2025 edition of BACM possible, particularly the curators, the artists, and the municipal team who dedicated themselves to the assembly work. I am certain that, as long as BACM 2025 is open to the public, Maia will be on the radar of those who appreciate contemporary art – not only in the metropolitan region to which we proudly belong, but throughout the country."

"Aí está a Bienal de Arte Contemporânea da Maia 2025_ Fulgor.
A Maia vive, entre 3 de julho e 14 de setembro, mais um certame Bienal de Arte Contemporânea, que apresenta uma programação abrangente e multidisciplinar, com entrada livre.
Enquanto espaço de reflexão crítica, imaginação e participação ativa na construção de um futuro comum, a Arte, entre outras coisas, possui, a meu ver, um intrínseco poder transformador que impacta, necessariamente, o desenvolvimento e a evolução das sociedades. E, para além da expetável fruição que a visita à Bienal de Arte Contemporânea da Maia (BACM), por certo, pode proporcionar, valorizo igualmente esse potencial de transformação social que o evento aporta à nossa comunidade.
Saúdo a curadoria da edição deste biénio, principalmente pela ousadia de afrontar o medo – ousadia que se afirma na seguinte expressão: 'um futuro liberto do medo que permeia determinados discursos e narrativas, mais plural, inclusivo, desafiante e, simultaneamente, inventivo'.
É com 'fulgor' que endereço, na pessoa do Vereador da Cultura, Mário Nuno Neves, uma palavra de reconhecimento e gratidão a todos quantos tornaram possível a edição de 2025 da BACM, particularmente à curadoria, aos artistas e à equipa municipal que, denodadamente, se empenhou nos trabalhos de montagem. Estou certo de que, enquanto a BACM 2025 estiver patente ao público, a Maia estará no radar de quem aprecia a Arte Contemporânea – não apenas na região metropolitana a que orgulhosamente pertencemos, mas em todo o país."
